Accepting New Clients Hi! My name is Tayler Durham, and I’m an LPC-Associate under the supervision of Kathryn Stolle, LPC-S.
I was born and raised in Marshall, Texas, and recently relocated to the Houston area with my husband, our daughter, and our two fur-babies.
After completing my first master’s degree in forensic psychology and working as a special education teacher, I completed my second master’s in clinical Mental Health Counseling after experiencing my own struggles with anxiety, postpartum depression, and OCD.
Before becoming a counselor, I worked as a Qualified Mental Health Professional at Community Healthcore, supporting children and adolescents through case management, intake processing, treatment planning, and counseling. I also taught as a Life Skills Teacher at Chapel Hill ISD and Houston High School, where I developed and implemented individualized curriculum and accommodations for diverse learners, including students in special education and emerging bilingual programs.
I currently work with children, adolescents, adults, and couples experiencing a wide range of difficulties, including behavioral challenges, parenting concerns, family conflict, anxiety, depression, life transitions, processing trauma, and other challenges that make day-to-day life feel overwhelming. I have experience working in school settings, I am currently completing training in the Gottman Method to better support couples as they navigate relationship issues and strengthen their connection, including Gottman Affair Recovery Program.
I work through a trauma-informed lens and utilize a combination of approaches depending on the needs of each client. My approaches include Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to identify and manage intense emotions, Person-Centered Therapy (PCT) and Somatic approaches to create a space where you feel comfortable and have control over the direction of all sessions. I also offer Christian counseling for clients who wish to incorporate their faith into the therapeutic process.
My goal as a counselor is to provide a safe space where you feel respected and supported, and to walk alongside each of my clients at a pace that doesn’t leave them feeling judged or rushed.
Starting therapy can feel overwhelming and scary, but you are capable of more than you think. You CAN do this! But you shouldn’t have to do it alone.
